MEMBERSHIP INSIGHTS

The International Housing Association (IHA) provides its members with valuable global insights into housing challenges, enabling them to adapt tested solutions to their local contexts. By collaborating with organizations like the World Bank and IMF, the IHA enhances these entities’ understanding of housing dynamics worldwide. In return, members benefit from the knowledge and data shared by these organizations, strengthening their expertise in global markets and informing domestic housing policies and initiatives.

IHA CHAIRMANSHIP

The IHA chairmanship is currently held by the Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry (CBIC) under Mariana Martins. The Canadian Home Builders Association (CHBA) serves as the secretariat.

Further information regarding the IHA, global housing concerns, and potential solutions identified by IHA members can be found in the IHA Bylaws or by contacting the IHA Secretariat.

Mariana Martins (CBIC) - Chair

My experience with the International Housing Association has confirmed the value of peer exchange at an international level. In a relatively short period of time, discussions with experienced housing leaders from different countries provide insights into markets, policy environments, and industry challenges that would otherwise take years to develop. This exchange of knowledge is both practical and an efficient use of time for those responsible for decision-making within their organizations. As I assume the role of Chair, I do so with a strong appreciation for the Association’s long-standing purpose and the responsibility it carries. I believe the IHA contributes to a broader understanding of housing and construction issues by sharing informed, experience-based perspectives with global stakeholders. Over time, this collective understanding supports more informed dialogue and can influence decisions that shape housing policy and delivery.
