Social Housing
Working to Improve Social Housing
The International Housing Association (IHA) established a Working Group to focus on the delivery of social housing across member countries in 2016.
Building on the Statement of Intent endorsed by IHA members at the November 2016 Interim Meeting, members agreed to:
- exchange knowledge on how to best support social housing as one element of the broad array of housing needs.
- commit to discussing potential strategies implemented to address social housing in a cost-effective and efficient fashion.
- work to bring together industry experts and housing resources beyond the IHA membership to share information about emerging techniques designed to address social housing needs.
The following information was shared at the November 2016 Interim meeting.
IHA Statement of Intent
The members of the IHA are committed to advancing the housing industry globally. Given this commitment, IHA members are keenly aware of the social housing needs in their individual countries and around the world, and share a common interest in how social housing is addressed. Read the IHA Statement of Intention Addressing Social Housing for more information on this pursuit.
